Safe Sleep for Babies!

In 2016 we published a Serious Case Review which involved the death of a baby due to overlay. Though there were several complex factors to the case one of the main messages the partnership was tasked with disseminating key Safe Sleep messages.

As a number of years have passed since this case and as all partners have seen a period of staff turnover, the Safeguarding Children Partnership felt it appropriate to remind partners that these key Safe Sleep messages should be shared with staff on a regular basis. This will help us to ensure that the whole workforce are equipped to identify those situations that could prove threatening or even fatal to a baby.
